On 15 January 2023, a tweet was published by 6 News with a breaking news update on one of the victims of the Gold Coast helicopter crash, which said the following:

#BREAKING 🚨 10-year-old Nicholas Tadros, who was critically injured in the Sea World helicopter crash, taken off life support and is 'holding his dad’s hand' | #6NewsAU

While the tweet accurately reported the latest detail, the wording - "taken off life support" - made it appear to some that 6 News was reporting the worst.

The tweet was replaced with another that said the following:

#BREAKING 🚨 10-year-old Nicholas Tadros, critically injured in the Sea World helicopter crash, no longer requiring life support and is 'holding his dad’s hand' ahead of surgeries next week | #6NewsAU

We sincerely apologise for any distress the original tweet may have caused followers, especially those who may have only seen the tweet briefly while scrolling.
