Labor Senator Kimberley Kitching dies from heart attack at the age of 52

Tributes have flowed in from politicians from across the political spectrum.

Victorian Labor Senator Kimberley Kitching has died suddenly in Melbourne at the age of 52.


It's been reported that she suffered a heart attack earlier this afternoon.


Prime Minister Scott Morrison tweeted that he was "deeply saddened" by the news of her death.


"Our deepest condolences go to her family, friends and colleagues."

Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese also tweeted about the news, saying that "the Labor family is in shock tonight."


"Kimberley will be missed by us all."

One Nation Senator Pauline Hanson said Senator Kitching was "always happy, approachable and genuine."

Kitching was sworn in as a Senator on November 7, 2016 - later becoming the Shadow Assistant Minister for Government Accountability & Deputy Manager of Opposition Business in the Senate.
