Police clash with protesters in Sydney as rally continues in Melbourne

Some have estimated that the crowds are smaller than what was seen last week.

Police have clashed with a group of protesters in Sydney, as 'Freedom Rallies' happen nationwide.

It's not fully known what started the confrontation, but video posted to social media shows a young girl crying before a group starts a chant of "shame on you!" directed towards the officers.

An elderly woman is also seen saying "they're pushing me."

"Don't push the women!" the person behind the camera says.

The remainder of the demonstration was peaceful, as was the protest in Melbourne - which began several weeks ago as a protest against the Victorian Government's controversial proposed pandemic bill.

Some online have estimated that, while reasonably large, the protests were smaller than what was seen in several capital cities last week.
