6 News Australia today announced the return of Austin Pollock as Operations Director, marking a major milestone ahead of what's expected to be a busy 2026.

Pollock returns to 6 News after a short period of time off. He previously held numerous roles during his tenure including National Affairs Editor and Deputy News Editor, where he played a pivotal role in editorial strategy, newsroom management, and broadcasting execution.

In his role, Austin will oversee core operational functions, examine areas for partnerships and growth, and work with the rest of the 6 News team to grow the output of reporting and original journalism.

6 News founder Leo Puglisi says: "Austin's extensive experience, both within 6 News and as a producer in mainstream media, will be instrumental in helping the team to grow throughout 2026".

Pollock's experience includes directing major election coverage, leading key projects with high-profile interviews, and implementing behind-the-scenes improvements that improved content quality and audience engagement.

Pollock says: "I'm honoured to be welcomed back to a team that I love. We will ensure that credibility and consistency remain our foundation".

Growth at 6 News in 2026 includes the return of 6th Preference, our dedicated elections and polling program, as well as the continuation of specialist reporting accounts, including AusPoll on Twitter and 6 News Sport on Instagram.
