AFL to pay tribute to women who lost their lives in gender based violence



The Australian Football League has declared that they will come together as a sport, and against gender base violence. 


Across all nine AFL matches over the weekend, players and officials will unite, and pay tribute to women who have lost their lives.

The code announcing late Wednesday that they will come together in the centre of the ground to form a linked circle and pay a silent tribute.



AFL boss Andrew Dillon saying “When it comes to violence against women, the only acceptable figure is zero... This weekend we will unite and remember, and stand in solidarity in committing to do more to stop this community-wide problem."
