Australia mandates the COVID-19 vaccine for EVERYONE - or should that be Austria?

Updated: Dec 27, 2021

The 2 countries are very different - but plenty of people are getting mixed up.

Australia has imposed a total lockdown for both vaccinated & unvaccinated people as COVID-19 cases continue to rise - mandating the jab for the entire population from February 2022.

Of course, that’s not true - at least, in terms of the country.

You see, we’re talking about Austria - one of many European countries seeing a surge in infections.

But it seems some are getting confused.

Despite some news reports online, there’s no such thing as the "Australian Chancellor."

On Twitter, ‘Australia lockdown’ is still a reasonably popular search term - even though that’s misleading - our only national lockdown was in early 2020.

Australia has NOT locked down the unvaccinated - the closest thing was a brief ‘lockout’ for parts of the Northern Territory earlier this month.

In all other lockdowns, vaccinated people & unvaccinated people were subject to the exact same restrictions.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison recently spoke about vaccine mandates, telling reporters "we're not in favour of mandatory vaccines imposed by the government."

"There has been a need for that as we’ve gone through the pandemic, but the time is now to start rolling all of that back."

This video was widely attributed to unvaccinated people protesting against the new measures in Austria - but it's actually from 2019 & appears to be of soccer fans.
