6 News has put together a compilation showing how 10 major news outlets first reported Vladimir Putin's announcement of a 'special military operation' in eastern Ukraine - effectively declaring war.

The video includes the ABC, Channel 7, CNN, Fox News, ABC (US), NBC, CBS, Sky News, Sky News UK & the BBC.

Yesterday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy declared that "when they invade, you will see our faces, not backs."

Ukrainian officials earlier today stated that Friday (Saturday in Australia) will be "the worst day" of attacks from Russia.
